How To Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy

preventstrechmarkspregnancy

Can’t believe I’m in my 9th month with lil Obi! Time has definitely flown this pregnancy and some days it feels like I have a million things to do to prepare. Before I get too busy, I wanted to make sure I shared one of my fave pieces of advice with you- something my BFF Deja told me (she just had a baby this past April)…How To Prevent Stretch Marks During Pregnancy!

MY HISTORY WITH STRETCH MARKS

All through puberty I was prone to stretch marks: I have them on my thighs and butt. I hated them then, but I’ve grown to embrace them, somewhat! When I found out I was pregnant, stretch marks on my stomach were just something I didn’t want to have to deal with. So, I asked my girl Deja what worked for her. And the answer was Palmer’s Tummy Butter!

After hearing that, I went to my fave drugstore, Harmons, and purchased some. It only costs about $5- which is much lower than the other stretch mark prevention creams out there.

HOW I USED THIS PRODUCT

I used Palmer’s Tummy Butter every morning on my growing tummy, breasts, butt and thighs after taking a shower . I massaged it liberally and slowly in each spot. I really love how this product feels on my skin, plus it smells amazing! Towards the end of my 2nd trimester, I started applying it on some nights. I found that it is much easier to apply in the morning after showering and this fit easier into my routine. I apply it at night when I get a chance or remember lol. The key with this product is definitely applying it at least once a day. The fact that it has elastin and collagen makes me feel like the product is really working to help my skin stretch comfortably without leaving marks. Plus, since I am naturally prone to stretch marks, I can definitely vouch for this product and I feel like without it I probably wouldn’t have come this far mark-free.

So, if you are pregnant or know someone who is, share this tip with them. I am team Palmer’s Tummy Butter all the way!

What I Wore To Paris Fashion Week

Fashionnova dress (similar here!) / Vintage blazer (love this one) / Guess boots (these are on my list) / Warby Parker glasses / MAC Ruby Woo lipstick

Earlier this month, I attended Paris Fashion Week for the very first time! It was amazing and definitely a longtime goal of mine. My husband and I honeymooned in Paris and Rome so for the first 2 days in Paris, I had some time to attend Roland Mouret and Leonard Paris. Here’s what I wore on day 1 to the Roland Mouret show- held at the gorgeous Holel Potocki in Paris.

In the photos above I’m 6 months pregnant! I’ve been loving stretchy bodycon dresses since they are so comfortable with my growing bump. I chose a Fashionnova dress (similar), vintage blazer and Guess boots. I accessorized the look with a black and white floral turban, Warby Parker glasses and a vibrant red lip.

Hotel Potocki had the most beautiful gold interiors. Obsessed. After years of attending shows in NYC, I can definitely say that Paris by far has the most beautiful venues. Now on to my favorite looks from the Roland Mouret show:

Loving the creative cutouts and of course those sick heels. Check back in soon to see what I wore to Leonard Paris the next day.

The weeks have been speeding by (check my current baby bump on Instagram!) and I can’t believe it’s already time to start planning my baby shower. Like, are we really here?!?! Just yesterday my lil boo boo was the size of a strawberry (around week 10) and now we’re reaching head-of-lettuce status!  With all that’s been going on in my life: looking for a new apartment, getting settled after our Paris honeymoon (pics/vids coming soon!) and overall work life; ordering baby shower invitations were the last thing on my mind!
