Jewel Toned dress / H&M denim jacket / Steve Madden heels / Ruby Woo lipstick (my FAVE red 4-ever)
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that my husband and I attended Essence Music Fest in New Orleans this past July 4th weekend. It was amazing! Such a fun time to celebrate black culture, Kevin Hart’s What Now tour (Obi’s birthday gift), 3 nights of wonderful music and the best food.
On the last night we went to see Sza, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar at the Mercedes Benz Superdome and it was lit! I wore my Jewel Toned bodycon dress for the occasion and it fit like a glove! Jewel Toned is known for their shapewear that’s meant to be worn as outerwear. Genius. ESSENCE photographer Hannan Saleh snapped me for the streetstyle roundup that night as well : )
More to come from Essence Music Fest!
Celeb fashion lines are a dime a dozen but one that caught my eye and continues to impress is the Tamar Collection by Tamar Braxton. We all know and love Tamar for her outspoken and lively personality and she’s taken her fun loving spirit to a collection of women’s apparel- which also includes some dope-ass accessories.
Ever since I rocked her clothing line earlier this year (top pic from NYFW and middle pic from Mother’s Day) I knew this collection was different from the others. The design aesthetic is well executed and there is a cohesiveness through the collection that I love. While at the Spring event for Tamar Collection (bottom pics) I had a chance to not only meet the woman of the hour but also her incredible team, including designer Joanna Williams. It was a ridiculously fashionable night.
So, my loves I wanted to share with you that Tamar Collection is currently having it’s blowout clearance sale where you can get 80% off- shoes for $34.99, tops for $10 and jumpsuits (like the red one I’m wearing above) for $29.99. Check it out here and fill your closet with essentials.
So….I’m planning my big wedding!!! Many of you remember that Obi and I got married in a romantic New York city hall ceremony this past January (see all the pics here). It was amazing and so much fun! Just the two of us, sharing in our love.
Now it’s time to celebrate with our friends and families. I recently found my dress- and it’s gorgeous. Our wedding parties have been chosen. We’ve picked a venue and now it’s time for one of the most important parts- our Save The Dates.
Minted.com reached out and it couldn’t have been better timing, I took a look at their insanely beautifully curated site, full of designs created by independent artists, and came up with a list of my fave Minted Save The Date designs.
Our theme for the wedding is fashion forward with a modern-glam meets minimalist touch. Yup, all that. I especially love the save the date’s gold details (our colors are white and gold) and the clean aesthetic. designs above.
Which is your fave?
