New York Fashion Week is here ladies and gentlemen! And what better way to kick off a week of fashion shows and events than with the Harlem’s Fashion Row Blogger Breakfast sponsored by McDonald’s McCafe and Pandora Jewelry held yesterday downtown.
A bit of background: Harlem’s Fashion Row is social company that provides a voice for designers of color through a creative platform that enables these designers to sell and present their collections to key leaders within the fashion industry. There newest initiative, Harlem’s Fashion Row University aims to assist student designers develop their design business by holding a contest specifically for HBCU fashion students.
The breakfast linked us with bloggers, publicists and some amazing designers of color who previewed their Fall lines for us.
And or course the food! We got energized for the day with yummy eggs, bacon and grits made by Chef Jerry Pennant with coffee and yogurt parfaits from McCafe.
At the end, Pandora let us create our own charm bracelets featuring charms from their new Essences Collection. Each charm represented a different value like love, hope, passion, strength and confidence.
It’s always so great to be able to support the CEO of HFR, Brandice Henderson-Daniel as she continues to build this platform that serves an underrepresented demographic in the fashion industry. Thanks to Harlem’s Fashion Row for a wonderful morning of fashion and networking!
