How To Mix High & Low Fashion on NBC-LXTV!

Hi all!

Yesterday I worked with fashion expert, Constance White on styling a fashion segment for NBC’s LXTV (their lifestyle, fashion and entertainment show that broadcasts daily at 5pm on channel 4). The segment, High-Low Fashion, shows how you can build an outfit using both designer and low priced pieces. The key here is having an attention to quality and style of the clothes and accessories! After that everything else falls into place! Watch as Constance gives you the 4-1-1 on mixing luxury and affordable:

The Looks:

On Madelyn

Topanga Heather Burnout” crew by Alternative Apparel, $14.99

“MK Burnout Throw Over” by Alternative Apparel, $58

Camo Pants by Mandee, $14.99

“Mercat Convertible Messenger” by Nyla Noor, $495

A super stylish messenger that can be worn 5 ways! Need I say more?

“Frida” Platforms by Herve Leger, $525

I am totally in LOve with this shoe!!! So chic!
Also everyone, including me, wants the camo pants! For only $14.99, what a steal!

A perfect weekend daytime casual look!

The “High-Low” of this Look:

Splurge more on shoes and handbags that are classic and will take you from season to season, like the Nyla Noor messenger bag and the Herve platforms. Spend less on trendy pieces like camo pants. They are making a comeback but are not guaranteed to be in style next season.

On Elaine

Jacket: Red Valentino by Valentino, $795

“Desert Storm” Yellow Blouse by Dereon, $59

“Smocking Jean” by Mango, under $150

Black shoes, $26.99

A perfect sophisticated and sexy date night look!

My fav is the blazer and top!

The “High-Low” of this look:

With a jacket as gorgeous and beautifully made as this Valentino, there’s no need to splurge on the rest of the look. Add a colorful summertime top for a fun pop of color, paired with the always perfect skinny jeans  and black strappy shoes!! Now we’re talkin! Ready for a fun weekend night out and a look that can be taken easily from work to play!

On Samantha:

“Red Sable Dress” by Valentino, $2,490

Black Pumps by Cupid, under $100

Vintage Crystal Bracelet, $68

Vintage Evening Clutch by Judith Leiber, $230

Absolutely Love this clutch! The mini flags! : )

The “High-Low” of this Look:

Ever woman needs in her wardrobe that special timeless gorgeous dress. You will literally be wearing this dress for 10-15 years or more! With a piece that will get so much wear, its okay to spend more. Especially since its a classic brand like Valentino and so beautifully made! This is a dress to be worn to events, dates, weddings: any venue that calls for fabulosity! Keep in mind a dress of this nature when accessorizing. You  never want to cheapen it with low quality accessories. Instead affordable vintage pieces like the Judith Leiber clutch and crystal bracelet are a great way to go! Throw on a sexy pair of pumps, and you’re ready Hot Momma!

The Fab models waiting to go on the set.

My Fashion Tip for This Post: Spend more for classic, less on trendy!!

Be sure to catch Constance and I next time on LXTV!

What was your fav look of the 3?

Peace, love and fashion!
